even with nos to run consistant 11.9s you would need some engine work. Intake exhaust (down pipes test pipes all 3") Cams Larger turbos nitrious Internal engine work--stronger rods crank pistion etc Big sticky tires Automatic transmssion with stall converter would make things much easier 5spds are harder to get tracktion with Im shure you could run 12s with a big enough shot of nitrous but to get into 11s its more a matter of getting tracktion not more HP. With a 5spd any the clutch you will have to get to hold large amounts of hp will be like an on off switch, you couldent slip the clutch off the line to get a good start, you would either bogg or break the tires compleatly loose, thats why the fastest Drag Zs you see are all autos with a stall converter. Personaly i dont think the Z was just made for drag duty and i enjoy going fast in lines that are not always straight so i opted for the 5spd for more fun.
You could get 11.9s for as cheap as 5000$ but if you really wanted a car to run them consitanly and not blow, up the final cost with all the interal engine work would probably be inbetween 10-15K
